Hello e23 friends!

I have just put in an OBC2 into my 85' 732i. The OBC2 comes from an 745i so I will need an codeplug to fit the 732i. Can anyone here help me?
Greetings from an e23 owner in Norway.

First off all, welcome on the dutch e23 board. I'm sure your question will be answered here.
You did place your question in the wrong section, but I will move it for you.

We would apreciate if you would introduce yourself and your car in the section "even voorstellen".

Also I've send you a personal message.

I bought mine by the dealer, as far as i know mine was for 7 series type 2 so it didn`t matter if it was a 28 or 35.

Thanks for reply Robby! I contacted my local BMW dealer, and he said he couldnt get me one because they where out of production. When I checked the ETK there where different partsnumber for the 732i, 735i and so on. I thought I needed a specific codeplug for my 732i to get the correct readings on my OBC, but maybe Im wrong about that?

You don't need one, just connect the OBC2 correctly and it will work.

What the f#@k are you saying Cees, you need the plug so the OBC2 knows you`re driving around with a 100 litre instead of 70 in for example a 635? Thats what they told me, i disconnected the OBC2 from my 635 and the plug said something like 6 type 2.
Or is it a cockstory?

Hehe

Yes, thats pretty much what they have told me as well Robby. As it is now I guess the only thing that will work correctly is the outdoor temp sensor and the clock.

If I cant find a correct codeplug maybe it's time to start looking for a 100 litre fueltank

The OBC2 comes from a 745i, so is also a 100 liter tank. No worries. If you had it from a e24 or e28 its a different story (it works but gives uncorrect information)

Good morning CeesBMW ;)

I just checked the ETK for my car and it seems like my car comes with the 100 litre fuel tank, I thought I had a smaller tank. So then I guess you are very right when you say the OBC2 will work. But the different partsnumbers still confuses me a bit.
