Hello again. Sorry for the slow reply but i have been working very much!
Here are some more pictures from the archives.
OK, I found the car in Scotlandwell, in Summer 2004. Previous owner was an American who traded it in with a SAAB garage in Edinburgh and it came to the vendor through them.
It was in OK condition, covered in moss. I bought in Late 2005 (once the price was OK!) It was on American plates. Mechanically good, it came with a donor car, a 728i, which supplied the RHD headlights (old ones binned, sorry!) a back bumper (old one dented) and front brake calipers (old ones siezed, should have kept as the 745i has four pot calipers and the 728i only twin calipers). Car drove well, fast, and quite economical.
During ownership I cleaned throughout, replaced the alloys which BBS, painted front and rear spoilers and mirrors white, painted wheel tubs white, Car was covered in wax throughout and nothing would shift it BUT it probably saved the car from rust!
German plates were show plates only.
Mechanically it was very good, did 140MPH with me no problem on scottish autobahn
I sold it on ebay in mid 2006 to a man in Aberdeen. He fitted tyres, exhausts, springs, fixed the SI board, replaced the ECU (car always had a light misfire) and did other things.
He then sold it to Sovereign Cars on the south coast of England. He did some paint, added a coachline, bigger BBS wheels etc, circa 2009.
I am very impressed with your work and very glad you are keeping it going!
